Last week, Barlby High School held another successful Stop the Clock Day. Students came off their normal timetable to spend the day exploring the school’s vision and values in a number of ways.
Each year took part in different activities. Year 7 students began their Archbishop Of York Youth Trust Young Leaders Award which all of our students now take part in. Some of our other year groups wrote postcards to the eldery, devised and performed drama based on the school’s values and designed artwork on tiles which will be displayed around school.
Year 11 students spent time with staff and students from York St John University and focused on raising aspirations, talking about exam stress and resilience and planning for the future.
Thanks to everyone for another great Stop the Clock Day!

It was an absolute privilege and delight to watch our Year 10 GCSE Drama students perform Blood Brothers last week. They were brilliant and are a credit to the school. Well done everyone. pic.twitter.com/Ec9D…

Friday saw our second Headteacher's breakfast of 2022, celebrating the achievements of our superb students. They enjoyed a mixture of healthy and not so healthy breakfast treats. Well done everyone! @HopeSentamuLT pic.twitter.com/mdRg…
