Robyn Chambers, Lillian Cooper and Lily Collins in Year 8 took part in the semi-finals of the SlamJam Poetry Competition in Sheffield last week. The girls were absolutely brilliant, competing against 45 other students from the region. They were the youngest there and stood out as some of the best performers.
The SlamJam organisers said in a tweet “So many powerful writers, performing their work with passion – congratulations to everyone involved. Bring on the Final!”
Mr Rinaldi and Mrs Wright accompanied them and have everything crossed as they wait to hear whether the girls have made the final. Both teachers are incredibly proud of how well Robyn, Lillian and lily performed. Great job girls and well done to the girls for representing Barlby High School with such literary prowess.

Friday saw our second Headteacher's breakfast of 2022, celebrating the achievements of our superb students. They enjoyed a mixture of healthy and not so healthy breakfast treats. Well done everyone! @HopeSentamuLT pic.twitter.com/mdRg…
