Update re remote working and exams – 24 March 2020

Dear parents/carers,

I hope you are well and that the first day of working from home wasn’t too difficult! We’ve had some contact from students who have been concerned about the amount of work set on Show my Homework. Please remind students that the work has been set to be completed over a period of time; they don’t need to panic and expect to do it all at once! If they have queries, staff will respond to these as soon as they can but they should remember that teachers are not sitting waiting for these messages and can’t respond to all of them at the same time.  Some students have requested paper copies of work; these are now ready to be collected from reception.

You will have seen government information regarding exams; information is being sent to us by Ofqual/exam boards and we’ll write to you once we have a full picture. Year 11 students don’t need to worry though, it has been made clear that they will not be disadvantaged.

As you know, the government gave clear guidelines about which students could be in school during this time. Thank you very much for the way you have supported us by following this guidance.

With best wishes,

Miss Caddell
Principal
