BARLBY HIGH SCHOOL IS PART OF

Drawn to Art

By Grace Armstrong

Drawing helps with your mental health and can relieve the stresses of a hard day’s work. The great thing about drawing is that you can choose exactly what you want to do (whether it be sketching, painting or using water colours) to express yourself in your own way.

Artists such as Pablo Picasso and Frida Kahlo prove to us that drawing is an expression of humanity and I appreciate their use of colour and tone to create such eye-catching pieces.

If drawing is not for you, there is also a wide array of other artistic forms to explore: from crafting to sculpting –the choice is yours!

Remember, those who choose to draw (or create art) have the ability to create their own worlds, defying all limitations.

It was an absolute privilege and delight to watch our Year 10 GCSE Drama students perform Blood Brothers last week. They were brilliant and are a credit to the school. Well done everyone. pic.twitter.com/Ec9D…
