Barlby High students celebrate GCSE results

Students at Barlby High School are celebrating today as they pick up their GCSE results.

Students have performed well across the board, with students making great progress enabling them to go on to the college of their choice. Students have worked hard and been taught well – the proven formula for success.

Julie Caddell, Barlby High Principal said “We are absolutely delighted and very proud of our students who have once again performed very well. It has been a real pleasure joining them and their families as they collect their results and hear all about their future plans. I’m thrilled for everyone involved – staff, parents, governors and especially our brilliant students.”

Among the individual success stories were:

  • Penelope Thompson who achieved 6 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s
  • Emily Tait achieved Grade 9 in both English Language and Literature
  • Sam Allison achieved 3 Grade 9s and 5 Grade 8s
  • Ellie Hick made the most progress across the school achieving on average two grades higher than her expected grade in most subjects.

Special mention also goes to 13-year old Leon Ma, who has achieved a Grade 9 in Maths and A* Distinction in Further Maths, an amazing achievement at such a young age.
