Mrs Wright and Miss Horsley took Year 10 drama students on a fantastic trip to York Theatre Royal to experience life behind the red curtains. Students were treated to a backstage tour where they quizzed industry experts on all things performance, programming and productions. Barlby students explored everywhere from the mirrors of the dressing rooms to the secrets of the trapdoors under the stage.
We were also fortunate enough to have an acting workshop with Julian Ollive, Education Associate at the theatre, where we experimented with physical theatre and explored how we can communicate emotions to audiences without words. We hope that our drama students have left the trip inspired and excited about their upcoming performances!
It was an absolute privilege and delight to watch our Year 10 GCSE Drama students perform Blood Brothers last week. They were brilliant and are a credit to the school. Well done everyone. pic.twitter.com/Ec9D…

Friday saw our second Headteacher's breakfast of 2022, celebrating the achievements of our superb students. They enjoyed a mixture of healthy and not so healthy breakfast treats. Well done everyone! @HopeSentamuLT pic.twitter.com/mdRg…
